Love, Rubio near the top in All-Star voting

MINNEAPOLIS—The NBA announced Thursday the latest returns in the 2012 all-star voting.

Timberwolves Kevin Love and Ricky Rubio are both still among the top five players receiving votes at their respective positions in the Western Conference. Love is fifth among forwards with 232,656 votes, behind Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin, Dirk Nowitzki and Pau Gasol. Rubio, with 248,423 votes, is third among guards behind Kobe Bryant and Chris Paul.

Love is 94,940 votes behind Gasol, the forward with the next-most votes, while Rubio has 586,603 fewer votes than Paul.

The 2012 NBA All-Star game will take place in Orlando on Feb. 26. Voting ends Jan. 31.
