Jabari Parker solid in workout for Cavaliers
Potential No. 1 overall NBA draft pick Jabari Parker worked out for the Cavaliers on Friday and by all accounts, it went well.
Parker did not, however, look as good in his workout as prospects Joel Embiid and Andrew Wiggins before him, sources said. Parker struggled shooting the ball, according to an account by Yahoo Sports, but the Cavs admired his passion and overall skill level.
Prior to the workout, it was believed the Cavs were leaning toward taking Parker with their first overall selection in Thursday's draft.
Embiid, who underwent surgery on his right foot Friday, will not be the Cavs' pick, a source said Friday. That leaves Parker and Wiggins as the frontrunners.
Parker is a 6-foot-8 forward from Duke who has drawn comparisons to NBA stars past and present such as Carmelo Anthony, Glenn Robinson and Paul Pierce.
Wiggins is a 6-8 swingman from Kansas, while Embiid is a 7-footer, also from Kansas. League executives are predicting Embiid will drop anywhere from the third to seventh pick.
