Holmes lifts Bowling Green past North Dakota 79-69

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (AP) -- Richaun Holmes had 21 points, 14 rebounds and seven blocks to help Bowling Green put away North Dakota 79-69 Wednesday night.

The Falcons (4-5) used a 6-0 run highlighted by a dunk from Holmes to open up a nine-point lead early in the second half.

North Dakota (2-6) climbed back as Troy Huff made a 3-pointer and a dunk and Jaron Nash hit three layups to cut their deficit to two.

Bowling Green answered with an 11-0 surge fueled by a three-point play and a dunk from Cameron Black to take a 51-38 lead at the midway mark. North Dakota could only pull within five for the remainder of the game.

Holmes had 19 points, 12 rebounds and six blocks in the second half. Black contributed 13 points and Jehvon Clarke added 12 for the Falcons.

Huff scored 19 points for North Dakota and Nash had 17 with nine boards.
