LEEDS, England (AP) Jason Gillespie will leave his post as head coach of English county Yorkshire at the end of the season and return to his native Australia to be with his family.

The former Australia paceman took over as Yorkshire coach in 2011, leading the team out of the second division to back-to-back English titles. Yorkshire could win a third straight county championship this season, and has lost just five matches in as many seasons under Gillespie.

Yorkshire made the announcement on Monday, saying Gillespie's wife, Anna, and their four children have recently returned to Australia and that ''the close season is an appropriate time to part company,'' considering his existing commitments to coaching the Adelaide Strikers in Australia's Big Bash.
