WASHINGTON (AP) -- Joe McDonald had 19 points Friday night and scored a buzzer-beating putback in overtime to lift George Washington over Dayton 65-64.

Dayton's Dyshawn Pierre blocked Kethan Savage's driving attempt in the lane, but McDonald grabbed the rejected shot out of the air and banked it in off the glass with less than a second left.

George Washington (17-6, 7-3 Atlantic 10) conceded Dayton's first overtime lead with 12.9 seconds left when Kyle Davis hit a 3-pointer to make it 64-63.

The Flyers (17-5, 7-3) scored five straight to get within 62-61 and Savage made 1 of 2 free throws with 27.6 seconds to put GW up by two.
