Florida State linebacker Christian Jones and defensive tackle Eddie Goldman have been suspended for Saturday's game against Bethune-Cookman for a violation of team rules.

FSU coach Jimbo Fisher made the announcement after Thursday's practice. Fisher did not disclose a reasoning for the one-game suspensions.

"Those guys will not be playing this week for us," Fisher said. "We have to abide by a certain set of guidelines."

Fisher said both would be back at practice on Monday.

Jones, a senior, led the team in tackles in 2012 and is second on the team this year with 13.

Goldman, a sophomore, has two tackles in two games.

Terrance Smith will start in Jones' linebacker spot. Goldman started both games at left end, and Fisher said FSU would turn to a rotation that includes Dan Hicks, DeMarcus Walker and Ukeme Eligwe.

Fisher also said that sophomore defensive end Mario Edwards Jr. (hand) would miss the Bethune game.
