Florida high school football is back, and this year, FOX Sports Florida/Sun Sports is bringing its coverage of high school football rivalries to viewers with four exclusive games and two All-Star games airing this fall. In addition to the games on television, Prep Zone Florida will stream up to 20 high school football games on www.FOXSportsFlorida.com.

High school football action on FOX Sports Florida kicks off Friday, August 31, at 10:30 pm ET with an early season showdown for South Florida supremacy. For the first time in more than 40 years, St. Thomas Aquinas and Christopher Columbus High School face off from Sun Life Stadium. A complete schedule of the network's online and television high school football line up can be found below.

The televised games in Florida will feature color analyst Brady Ackerman and play-by-play announcer Eric Reid in the booth, with Steve “Goldie” Goldstein on the sidelines. Reid, who calls play-by-play on Sun Sports’ Miami HEAT telecasts, joins Goldie, who handles the same role for FSFlorida’s Florida Panthers telecasts. Ackerman has anchored Florida Gators coverage on Sun Sports, while also calling high school games on the network.  For the games originating from the Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, FOX Sports Florida host Frank Forte will join Ackerman in the booth.

For high school football fans beyond the network’s television reach, FOXSportsFlorida.com’s Prep Zone will stream up to 20 games LIVE online from across the state of Florida. The first Prep Zone game will be on August 30th between Yulee and Gainesville High School.

Prep Zone games based out of South Florida will feature Ed Berliner and Keith Sims in the broadcast booth with Kavita Channe reporting from the sidelines. For games based out of North / Central Florida, Dave Reynolds and John Kaleo will anchor coverage with Roxanne Wilder reporting from the sidelines.

In conjunction with Tampa-based Our Team, Prep Zone, launched in October 2011, is a way of merging television, web and social media in one place to enhance the high school football experience for players, parents and fans. In addition to televising and streaming live games, fans will have access to a library of game highlights and be able to replay games online at www.FOXSportsFlorida.com.

The highlights, live coverage, and full game replays that will live online provide great opportunities to enhance the exposure for high school athletes from all around Florida. Each week’s telecast will promote the schools’ other sports and activities through interviews with athletic directors, principals and other key faculty. The schedule, which is subject to change, has a few openings for Prep Zone to pick up compelling matchups later in the season.
