Feather in his cap: Badgers' Koenig rocks new haircut with native pride
If you play for Wisconsin's basketball team, it's pretty much mandatory you have a buzz cut. And, if you're going to have a buzz cut, Bronson Koenig figures, you might as well make it interesting.
So the Badgers guard is currently sporting a head-turning new hairdo that's also a cool nod to his Native American heritage. On his Instagram page, Koenig showed off the fresh fade with an impeccably buzzed feather cut right into it. In the post, Koenig wrote, "When your barber has a PhD from Harvard.. #NativePride".
Koenig, a member of the Ho-Chunk tribe, has embraced being a role model for the Native American community, speaking to a group of players and coaches from the Winnebago boys basketball team in Nebraska in 2014.
On the court, the rising junior is expected to be Wisconsin's starting point guard and one of its key players next season after the team's run to the national championship game last year. In 12 games as Wisconsin's starting point guard in 2014-15, Koenig averaged 11.3 points and 2.8 assists per game.
