Tribe fans who are wondering why Johnny Damon is sitting out tonight can look no further than last night's action for their answer.
During Monday night's 10-9 win over Cincinnati, Damon was injured going for a ball in the left field corner. Brandon Phillips laced a double, and Damon had a mishap that turned the play into a four-bagger. He was checked on, but stayed in the game.
"He was pretty banged up after that one," Indians manager Manny Acta said. "He was pretty sore in the lower back area. He's played a few games in a row, too. We'll try to give him a day off."
No word on his return.  Shelley Duncan replaced him in the lineup, striking out in his first at-bat.
