Chargers having no trouble selling tickets despite desire to leave San Diego

If the 2015-16 season is the Chargers' last in San Diego, at least the fans will be there to see it.

Despite the franchise's very public desire to leave San Diego, the Chargers are having no trouble selling tickets, a team official told U-T San Diego.

Only individual tickets remain for three of the eight home games at Qualcomm Stadium -- Oct. 12 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Nov. 9 against the Chicago Bears and Dec. 6 against the Denver Broncos.

The Chargers also are expected to sell out or nearly sell out their home opener, Sept. 13 against the Detroit Lions.

Usually when a team enters what might be a lame-duck season, fans are nowhere to be found. Though, if fans think showing up in the masses will keep the Chargers in San Diego, they're likely to be disappointed. The Chargers couldn't be further away from finding common ground with the city on a new stadium.

Regardless of how this all turns out, it's really great to see a fanbase showing up to support its team.
