New York 1 – Montréal 1

Connor Lade ruined the Impact's bid for a top-three seed in the quarterfinals with his late equalizer at Red Bull Arena. Both teams muddled through a dire first half in soggy conditions, but Jack McInerney put his side on course for a fourth win in four attempts with his opener after 71 minutes. Lade responded by turning home from a free kick nine minutes from time to lift the already eliminated Red Bulls to a draw. The stalemate left Montréal (3-0-1, 10 pts.) locked into the fourth or fifth seed, depending on the result of the Sporting Kansas City – Saprissa affair on Thursday night.

The home side dashed Pachuca's hopes of claiming the top overall seed in the last eight with a surprising victory in San Pedro Sula. Edder Delgado struck first for the home side with his opener after three minutes, but Simon Almeida pulled Pachuca level shortly thereafter. Kevin Espinoza and Aviles Hurtado exchanged goals before the break to leave the match finely poised at 2-2 heading into the second half. Dario Carreno altered the calculus when he procured his second booking after 54 minutes. Delgado then snatched the winner just after the hour to give Real España its first victory in Group 1 play. Pachuca (3-0-1, 9 pts.) will finish as the fifth or sixth seed depending on the result in Costa Rica.
