Brandon Marshall talked his way into playing after being ruled out
Brandon Marshall's powers of persuasion are apparently quite strong.
The Bears wide receiver injured his ankle in Week 1 against the Bills — an overtime loss in which Marshall caught eight passes for 71 yards and a score.
The following week, the Bears traveled to play the 49ers in the Sunday night game.
And Marshall, who was listed as doubtful to play up until kickoff, had a monster night: He caught five passes, three of which were for touchdowns, to help rally the Bears from 20-7 down to a 28-20 victory.
Apparently, he wasn't even supposed to play.
More on Marshall from the Sun-Times:
For all the fuss made about helmets being taken away for concussions, it's interesting that a player would admit he talked himself into a game he shouldn't have played in.
But we'll just choose to give Marshall some props for playing through the pain.
