I wish I were kidding about this.
Michigan head coach Brady Hoke has promised free donuts to all students who attend Noon home games in 2013.
Seriously.

Aside from the fact that we managed to get the words "Brady Hoke" and "donuts" into the same headline, this whole concept just keeps getting more and more comical.
Despite an 8-5 record last year, Michigan football is supposed to be on the rise again. After three miserable years under Rich Rodriguez, Hoke has turned the team's fortunes around. They are supposed to be an elite football team.
So why is there a need to lure students to Noon games?
Attendance has not been an issue for decades at Michigan home games, but there is a section at the top of the bowl where the students sit that often goes empty until after halftime. Clearly this is a way to bring those students out to fill that section before kickoff.
But wouldn't winning football do that?  You'd think so.
Either way, I'll be over here, chuckling.
