Conference titles, Final Fours and national championships. Billy Donovan gave a lot to Florida Gators fans. Sunday, he added one more thing.
Donovan, who left Gainesville after 19 seasons to take over coaching duties for the Oklahoma City Thunder in the NBA, took out a full-page ad in the Gainesville Sun, thanking the school, the staff and the fans.
He referenced the previous time he almost left for the NBA, and he also wished his successor, Mike White, well.
