Beltre completes cycle with single in seventh

ARLINGTON, Texas – Texas Rangers' Adrian Beltre is having a very good week.

After hitting three home runs in a game Wednesday, Beltre hit for the cycle in Friday's game against the Minnesota Twins.

Beltre achieved the cycle with a single to right field in the seventh inning off Twins reliever Kyle Waldrop.

It is the second cycle of Beltre's career, and the second time in Arlington. He accomplished the feat as a Seattle Mariner on Sept. 1, 2008. That night he got three hits off the Rangers' Matt Harrison, who also pitched Friday and had a no-hitter for 6 2/3 innings.

Beltre tripled in the first inning when Twins center fielder Ben Revere crashed into the wall attempting to catch a hard line drive. He then doubled to left field in the second inning and homered over the out-of-town scoreboard in left field in the fifth inning.

Beltre becomes the first American League player to hit for the cycle since the Rangers' Bengie Molina pulled it off on July 16, 2010 at Fenway Park.

Beltre is the sixth Ranger to hit for the cycle, along with Oddibe McDowell, Mark Teixeira, Gary Matthews Jr., Ian Kinsler and Bengie Molina.
