ASU's Stauffer reaches NCAA wrestling quarterfinal with pair of upsets

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. -- Arizona State wrestler Blake Stauffer upset a pair of seeded opponents on Thursday's opening day of competition at the 2014 NCAA Wrestling Championships at the Chesapeake Energy Arena to advance to the quarterfinals at 184 pounds.

Stauffer began his day with a 4-1 win over the No. 9 seed, Michigan’s Domenic Abounader, and followed with a win over the No. 8 seed, Timothy Dudley of Nebraska, 7-2.

Up next, Stauffer will take on the No. 1 seed at 184, Jimmy Sheptock of Maryland, in the Friday morning session.
