ANAHEIM, Calif. -- The Los Angeles Angels have re-signed Erick Aybar for the upcoming season at $5,075,000, avoiding arbitration with the Gold Glove shortstop.
The Angels re-signed the last of their arbitration-eligible players on Tuesday.
Aybar batted .279 last season with career-highs of 10 homers, 59 RBIs and 30 stolen bases while playing in 143 games for the Angels.
He also became just the third Angels shortstop to win a Gold Glove, committing just 13 errors in his double-play combination with All-Star second baseman Howie Kendrick.
Aybar went undrafted, but the Dominican shortstop has spent his entire career with Los Angeles, playing parts of the last six seasons in the majors.
