For a guy who’s known for his elite ability to beat people up, Anderson Silva is a pretty sensitive man.
The former UFC middleweight champion, and arguably the best MMA fighter of all time, has filed a police report against a Brazilian woman who was trolling him on Twitter, according to the TV network Globo. The penalty for this type of a crime in Brazil is up to six months in jail, or a fine.
Silva was offended when a woman called him “rotten” on the social media site and he has filed a complaint for defamation, said Marcelo Magalhaes, the police department chief in Pinhais, Brazil. The middle-aged woman also tweeted that Silva was a “rotten idol,” Magalhaes told a local radio station.
"We’re still investigating to get her name, address and phone," Magalhaes told Globo. "It’s a 40-year-old woman who wrote on the Internet, in a social media, several phrases, including ‘Brazil will see (how) rotten that you are.’”
In a separate interview, Magalhaes said the woman also called Silva a "sh*tty idol."
Silva is currently rehabbing a broken left leg he received in a UFC title fight with Chris Weidman on Dec. 28. He’s out of action for nearly a year, depending on how well his recovery goes.
