1 new cap in New Zealand team for test matches in Africa

WELLINGTON, New Zealand (AP) Uncapped batsman Jeet Raval was included Friday in the New Zealand cricket team squad will play tests in Zimbabwe and South Africa next month.

The 27-year-old Raval averaged 55.71 while playing for Auckland in New Zealand's domestic first-class competition this season and has maintained an average of 43.85 in his first-class career.

Raval is the only uncapped player in the squad selected by coach Mike Hesson to play two tests against Zimbabwe in Harare and tests against South Africa at Durban and Centurion. Legspinner Ish Sodhi was recalled to the test side for the first time since 2014.
