Reigning Olympic champion Dayron Robles of Cuba withdrew from the 110-meter hurdles at the Adidas Grand Prix this weekend with what meet officials say was a slight injury.
Robles skipped the Prefontaine Classic last Saturday in Eugene, Ore., because of visa issues. He missed quite a show, too, as Liu Xiang of China won the race in a wind-aided time of 12.87 seconds, which would have tied Robles' world record if not for the gusty conditions.
American record holder Tyson Gay will compete in a 100-meter ''B'' race at the meet as he returns from hip surgery. It will be his first race in nearly a year.
Meseret Defar joins the 5,000-meter field and will go against fellow Ethiopian runner Tirunesh Dibaba, who won the 10,000 last Saturday in Eugene.
