Just days before the start of training camp, the defending Eastern Conference champion New York Rangers reached deals with restricted free agent defenseman John Moore and veteran forward Ryan Malone.
Both contracts were announced by the club on Thursday.

The 34-year-old Malone agreed to a one-year, two-way deal that will pay him $700,000 if he is in the NHL and $100,000 if he plays in the AHL. He was bought out of the final year of a seven-year, $31.5 million deal with the Tampa Bay Lightning in April, making him a free agent.
He was let go after he was charged with driving under the influence and cocaine possession.
