Unger, Kearse, Helfet all inactive for Seattle

Published Dec. 28, 2014 3:39 p.m. ET

SEATTLE (AP) Seahawks center Max Unger, tight end Cooper Helfet and cornerback Tharold Simon are all out for Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams.

Unger missed his sixth straight game as he continues to recover from a high ankle sprain. Unger practiced this week and was questionable on the injury report, but Seattle decided to hold him out at least until the playoffs.

Helfet suffered a rib injury last week against Arizona, while Simon suffered a shoulder injury. Helfet being inactive leaves Seattle with only two healthy tight eds.

Wide receiver Jermaine Kearse had already been ruled out with a hamstring injury.

Starting cornerback E.J. Gaines was inactive for St. Louis after suffering a concussion. He was listed as doubtful on the injury report. Trumaine Johnson is expected to start for Gaines.
