The Denver Broncos found a way to beat the Chiefs on Thursday night coming from 14 points down and escaping with a 31-24 victory on the road. They have now won back-to-back fantastic finishes to start the 2015 season 2-0.

The Broncos need a solid week of practice to prepare for their test in Week 3. The Detroit Lions have started off the season 0-2 but they do present a number of concerns for the Broncos. Denver will need to play a very good game and improve on their mistakes to go 3-0.

Here are three reasons the Broncos should be worried about the Detroit Lions.

3. The Lions have a ton of weapons on offense

Detroit hasn’t played up to their potential on offense just yet. With a team that has quarterback Matt Stafford and wide receivers like Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate you would think they would be putting up huge numbers. But it hasn’t happened yet. Through two games the Lions are averaging just 22 points per game. With young players like tight end Eric Ebron and running back Ameer Abdullah you would think they will start clicking soon. Let’s hope the Denver defense is up to the task.

2. The Detroit pass rush should get better

Yes, the Lions lost their All-Pro defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh but they signed former Ravens DL Haloti Ngata to take his place. A year ago, the Lions were the second ranked defense in the league allowing just 305 total yards and 17.6 points per game. So far the Lions have allowed 59 points and over 800 yards through two games. But with the struggles that the Broncos offensive line has had, the Lions have to be looking at this game as their springboard to return to the same type of domination defensively that they had last year.

1. The Lions have their back against the wall

The Detroit Lions have entered the 2015 NFL season with high expectations. They went 11-5 and made it to the NFC Wild Card round of the playoffs a year ago and were hoping for more this season. After losing their first two games to the San Diego Chargers and Minnesota Vikings they know that the pressure is on to win in Week 3 at home. The crowd at Ford Field will be at a fever pitch for the Broncos on Sunday night. The Lions know that their season could be on the line.
