Super Bowl moment No.15: Willie Brown scores on a 75-yard interception
As we count down to Super Bowl 50 in Santa Clara, Calif., it's time to look back on the magical and memorable moments in the 49 previous Super Bowls. FOX Sports senior NFL writer Alex Marvez has ranked the 50 greatest moments in the big game's big history, and every weekday from now until Feb. 7 we'll unveil the latest addition to our countdown. Today, we look back at moment No. 15, when Willie Brown showed he still had legs.
"Old Man Willie" Brown was 37 years old when he forced the turnover that highlighted his Hall of Fame career.
Brown sensed that Minnesota quarterback Fran Tarkenton would try to connect with Sammy White on a fourth-quarter pass. Brown jumped the route and returned the interception a Super Bowl-record 75 yards to further Oakland's thumping of the Vikings.
Outstanding camera work that captured Brown's face in a close-up as he chugged to the end zone further cemented the play in Super Bowl lore.
