Steelers' Tomlin ready to ride Le'Veon Bell
Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin is going to throw a full workload at Le'Veon Bell now that his All-Pro running back has returned from suspension.
“I am going to play Le’Veon Bell,” said Tomlin. “If 26 is available to use we are going to use him.”
DeAngelo Williams, who rushed for 204 yards and three touchdowns in Bell's absence, has earned an opportunity to get reps behind Bell, according to Tomlin.
“I can’t say enough about the contributions of DeAngelo Williams. He’s been a good asset and acquisition for us. He’s working hard to compete and contribute in all areas."
Williams has already proven he can be a difference maker in the Steelers' backfield, but now he'll be able to prevent extra wear on Bell's tires. Last year, the Steelers had no viable options behind Bell after LeGarrette Blount's departure.
