Steelers at Redskins: Week 1 inactives
The latest updated Pittsburgh Steelers and Washington Redskins 2016 NFL Week 1 inactives ahead of their Monday Night Football game.
For Week 1 of the 2016 NFL season, Monday Night Football will be back with a big doubleheader. In the first of the two games, Kirk Cousins and the Washington Redskins host Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers. Both teams are looking to build upon last season’s success as they were both NFL Wild Card teams in the playoffs.
Coming into this game, the Pittsburgh Steelers are without two key players due to suspensions. Both running back Le’Veon Bell and receiver Martavis Bryant are suspended. However, the Steelers are still led by “Big Ben” who is capable of doing damage to opponents on any field when he’s healthy. He’ll have running back Deangelo Williams on the field to help out with Bell out of the lineup.
For the Redskins, they are out to prove themselves as a worthy team in the league. Last season they finished 9-7 and won the NFC East, clinching a wild card spot. Kirk Cousins was a steady quarterback for Washington and will look to guide them to a win over a quality opponent Monday night.
A victory over a team they rarely play, but one that is often in the postseason for the AFC, would prove quite a bit. To take that a step further, it would be huge, as Washington didn’t have a single win over a team with a winning record last season. Pittsburgh went 10-6 last season, and despite starting this season 0-0, they are certainly a team known for winning.
Here’s a look at the inactive players listed for each team ahead of tonight’s game.
Steelers:
CB Senquez Golson
LB Steven Johnson
QB Zach Mettenberger
FB Roosevelt Nix
WR Markus Wheaton
Redskins:
SS Duke Ihenacho
WR Rashad Ross
QB Nate Sudfield
The two teams will meet in the first game of a 2016 NFL Monday Night Football doubleheader. One squad will get a 1-0 start to the season. Game time is set for 7:10 p.m. Eastern Time from FedExField in Landover, Maryland.
