Sources: Giants to release WR Preston Parker
It only took an NFL high five dropped passes for the New York Giants to move on from wide receiver Preston Parker. Sources tell FOX Sports NFL Insider Mike Garafolo that the Giants will release Parker and re-sign free agent defensive tackle Kenrick Ellis.

Parker has been operating as the Giants' starting slot wide receiver in place of the injured Victor Cruz through the first two weeks of the regular season. Several of his dropped passes came on key third down conversions, and his latest miscue happened on the final fourth down play in Week 2. This last play proved to be the final straw.
In Parker's place, the Giants will likely turn to offseason acquisition Dwayne Harris to man the slot until Cruz returns. However, don't be surprised if the Giants also work in rookie Geremy Davis. The sixth-round draft pick was impressive during training camp and the preseason, and he even saw a few offensive snaps in Week 2.
