Seahawks safety Earl Thomas eyeing Week 1 return vs. Rams
It appears Earl Thomas could be healthy enough to suit up for the Seahawks in Week 1.
The coaching staff has been pleased with Thomas' progress thus far, though he is not expected to play in Friday's preseason games vs. the Kansas City Chiefs.
“We’re just making sure that he has all of the time to gain all of the strength that (we) can just to protect him,” Carroll said, via the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. “He’s healed and he can do everything right now.”
Thomas returned to practice and dressed in pads for the first time during training camp on Tuesday, and was wearing a non-contact red jersey.
Nonetheless, it is positive news for the Seahawks.
“He’s getting a lot more work than he had, and it’s all in the process to try get him ready for the opener in hopes that he’ll be ready to go that week,” Carroll said, via the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.
