Report: Kenny Britt surrenders to police
Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt, facing outstanding warrants from alleged false statements made on a driver's license application, surrendered to Nashville police Wednesday, The Tennessean reported.
The troubled wideout, who was in New Jersey facing unrelated charges when news first broke of the warrants, was officially booked and released on $2,000 bond, according to the report.
"We are on track to get this thing resolved," Britt's attorney Jonathan Farmer said. "He is here in town to deal with this issue and is looking forward to putting it behind him."
Britt's court date has been scheduled for July 18.
The 22-year-old former Rutgers star has had multiple run-ins with the law this offseason. Britt was arrested in Hoboken, N.J., earlier this month and charged with obstruction, tampering with evidence and resisting arrest with force. The charges were later reduced to disorderly persons offenses.
Britt also was arrested in April in his hometown of Bayonne, N.J., about 10 miles from New York City, after attempting to elude police after he was spotted driving a Porsche 71 mph in a 50 mph zone.
The felony charges in that case were eventually dropped, and Britt was hit with a $478 fine for a guilty plea to careless driving.
Britt's checkered off-field past includes an arrest in January 2010 for not paying $865 in outstanding traffic warrants. He also was accused of punching a man in a Nashville bar fight in October of last year, but was not charged.
Britt had 42 catches for 775 yards and nine touchdowns in 12 games last season for Tennessee.
