Indianapolis Colts linebacker Erik Walden was slashed in an alleged knife attack by his ex-girlfriend, according to a report from WXIA-TV in Atlanta.

Walden called 911 late on March 14 after he apparently had to pry his gun away from Erica Palmer, who reportedly struck Walden's female companion with a baseball bat, breaking her arm before running away.

Palmer allegedly reappeared while Walden was helping his companion to the hospital and slashed Walden's arm with a knife.

Police in Braselton, Georgia, were able to track Palmer's cell phone and arrested her at a hotel. Palmer is being held without bail on two counts of aggravated assault, family violence aggravated assault, theft by taking and first-degree burglary.

Walden was treated and later released from the hospital.
