Ravens WR Michael Campanaro looking at 'make-or-break' season

Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Michael Campanaro has played in just eight games in two seasons, catching 12 passes for 137 yards. Both he and the Ravens are hoping his best play of 2015 was a glimpse of what Campanaro is capable of when healthy.

Campanaro's season ended prematurely after he suffered a herniated disk in his back in Week 4 against Pittsburgh. Sadly, it came on the same night he scored his lone touchdown of the season, turning what looked like a sure loss on a reverse into a nine-yard score.

The third-year receiver's rookie season was also cut short by hamstring and thigh injuries. Campanaro knows he needs to play more than four games next season, per the team's official website.

"I’m looking at it for myself like a make-or-break year. [I’ve spent the] first two years just being injured, but my teammates still believe in me, coaches do as well, so I’m looking to have a big offseason and come in for a big year."

With all of the injuries the Ravens dealt with at receiver this season, Campanaro lost a golden opportunity to prove that he could be a viable weapon in the slot. The team's depth should be improved next season with the non-retirement of Steve Smith Sr. and the hopeful return of first-round pick Breshad Perriman. Kamar Aiken is also coming off a career season, finishing the year as Baltimore's top receiver with 75 catches for 944 yards and five touchdowns.

"I feel like if I can stay healthy, I can really make a big impact."
