Ravens' Jones sprains knee

Published Sep. 5, 2013 1:00 a.m. ET

Jacoby Jones, the hero of the Baltimore Ravens' playoff win at Denver eight months ago, sprained his right knee in the season opener against the Broncos on Thursday night.

Jones was injured in the second quarter and the Ravens said his return was doubtful.

Jones was about to field a punt when teammate Brynden Trawick ran into him at the Baltimore 15. Both stayed down for a minute before heading to the sideline.

Jones caught a 70-yard touchdown pass from Joe Flacco with 31 seconds left in regulation on Jan. 12 and the Ravens went on to win in double overtime.
