Philadelphia Eagles can win NFC East rather easily

Don’t be surprised when the Philadelphia Eagles win the NFC East with ease.

The Philadelphia Eagles had an early bye week this season, allowing us to keep an eye on the team’s division rivals.

What we saw wasn’t pretty.

The Washington Redskins, last year’s division winners, were given all they could handle by the Cleveland Browns Sunday, who remain the only team in the NFL still without a win this season. While Washington was able to walk away with a victory, they still exhibited poor defense and a middle-of-the-road offense against the worst team in the league. Washington certainly has its own issues to worry about.

For the second week in a row, the New York Giants’ horrendous defense was exposed, leading to a 24-10 loss against the Minnesota Vikings. When Odell Beckham Jr. wasn’t having a temper tantrum on the sidelines, he was completely ineffective against the stingy Vikings defense. Despite Minnesota’s defense being arguably the top unit in the league, a superstar like Beckham needs to be able to perform against top-level competition and he was unable to do so. The Giants are a sinking ship.

The Dallas Cowboys travelled to San Francisco to take on the 49ers Sunday and took home a win, but not without the help of the referees, who made two horrible calls in favor of the Cowboys, ultimately leading to Dallas’ comeback after being down 14-0 in the first quarter. The Cowboys are likely the Eagles’ biggest threat, but with an average-at-best defense and ailments to a number of their top players, it’s hard to consider Dallas the front-runners in the division.

The NFC East is the Eagles’ division to lose. They’ve exceeded expectations in every area of the game and there is no reason to believe they cannot run away with the NFC East crown as long as they continue to play the way they have been in the early going of the season.
