FOXBOROUGH, Mass. (AP) The New England Patriots released defensively linemen Chris Jones and Ishmaa'ily Kitchen on Friday.

Jones was on the physically unable to perform list in 2015.

Jones, 25, spent three seasons with the Patriots. A 2013 sixth-round draft pick by Houston out of Bowling Green, he was cut by Houston at the end of training camp and claimed by Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers kept him for one game, then he was claimed by New England. Jones played in 28 games with 23 starts over his first two seasons with the Patriots, with 83 tackles and nine sacks.

Kitchen, 27, was signed by the Patriots as a free agent last Dec. 16, 2015, and played in one game. He spent three seasons with Cleveland (2012-14) and two games with Detroit in 2015.
