NFL odds: Steelers, Rams among betting underdogs in Week 7
In what was supposed to be the marquee matchup of Week 7, the New England Patriots (5-1) will visit the Pittsburgh Steelers (4-2) as road favorites of more than a touchdown on the NFL point spreads at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.
The Steelers return home following their second straight road loss and will be without starting quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, who underwent knee surgery on Monday to clean up a torn meniscus.
The Pittsburgh-New England game was originally listed as a pick’em on the Vegas odds at the Westgate Las Vegas SuperBook early last week when their look-ahead lines were released, showing the value of Roethlisberger and the drop-off from him to backup Landry Jones. Last year, Jones made his first career start on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs and threw for 209 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions.
The Patriots have won nine of the past 12 meetings with Pittsburgh straight up. However, the Steelers are 7-1 SU in their last eight games after losing as a favorite in their previous outing, and they have won 11 of their last 12 games in October.
Sunday’s NFL betting action will kick off in London when the New York Giants (3-3) square off against the Los Angeles Rams (3-3) as three-point favorites.
The Giants broke a three-game skid with a 27-23 win over the Baltimore Ravens last week behind a season-high 222 yards from wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. They have won the past six meetings and covered seven straight in the series with the Rams.
As well, the Minnesota Vikings (5-0) will put their perfect record on the line when they visit the Philadelphia Eagles (3-2) as 2.5-point road chalk. The Vikings are coming off their bye while the Eagles have dropped two in a row since they had their week off.
Philadelphia has won eight of the past 11 meetings with Minnesota, which has failed to cover in the last 10 of 13 games in the series and is 1-8 SU in its last nine on the road after playing consecutive home games.
The Buffalo Bills (4-2) are riding a four-game winning streak for the first time since 2008 and have enjoyed a lot of recent success against the Miami Dolphins as they head to South Beach as three-point road favorites in Week 7.
The Bills are 5-1 SU and ATS in the past six meetings with the Dolphins (2-4), who just routed Pittsburgh 30-15 as 7.5-point home underdogs. Buffalo is also an impressive 7-3 ATS in its last 10 games as road chalk according to the OddsShark NFL Database.
The Arizona Cardinals opened as one-point home favorites versus the Seattle Seahawks (4-1) in an important NFC West matchup on Sunday Night Football. The Seahawks have won the past three meetings at Arizona both SU and ATS.
And in the Week 7 Monday night game, Brock Osweiler returns to Denver to face his old team the Broncos (4-2) for the first time since signing with the Houston Texans (4-2).
The former Denver quarterback led Houston to a 26-23 overtime victory against the Indianapolis Colts last Sunday night, rallying back from a 14-deficit midway through the fourth quarter. The favored team is 4-1 SU and ATS in the past five meetings between the Broncos and the Texans.
