The NFL has told some players they should not be associated with a supplement company that markets a product it says contains a banned substance.
ThePostGame.com first reported that the league sent letters to several players.
League spokesman Brian McCarthy wrote in an e-mail to The Associated Press that the NFL is ''investigating the matter, as we have been for a while now.'' He says ''it is not clear at all that the product actually contains'' a banned byproduct of human growth hormone.
Last month, the NFL ordered new Oakland Raiders coach Hue Jackson to stop endorsing the company, Sports With Alternatives to Steroids, because his connection violated league rules.
