New Steelers RB Isaiah Pead hoping to make most of opportunity

The newest addition to the Steelers' running back depth chart is hoping to make the most of his second shot in the league.

Isaiah Pead, signed earlier this week in the wake of Le'Veon Bell's season-ending knee injury, was released by the St. Louis Rams in September after seeing action in just two games. Pead saw limited action in his four seasons with the Rams, missing the entire 2014 season with a torn ACL.

Pead isn't sure what his role is going to be with Jordan Todman and Dri Archer also on the depth chart, but he's looking to make the most of his time in Pittsburgh.

“This is another place, another opportunity, Pead said per the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. "I'm always positive and I'm not looking at the past because you can't change it, but I can learn from it."

Pead, a second-round pick for the Rams in 2012, laments that he never got the chance to show what he can do in St. Louis. The first-round selection of Todd Gurley virtually sealed his fate with the only franchise he's ever known. Pead compiled just 78 yards on 19 carries during his time there.
