Updated Mar. 5, 2020 2:08 a.m. ET

The Minnesota Vikings announced that they have filled up their practice squad on Wednesday, December 13, 2016 by adding two rookies to the group.

Recently, it was announced that the Minnesota Vikings brought up a player from their practice squad to fill the spot left by putting Sharrif Floyd in injured reserve. Also, the Bears sniped a tight end from the team’s practice squad as well.

This left two openings for the Vikings to fill with talented, young players. The team announced on Wednesday, December 13, 2016 that they have signed a pair of players to complete their practice squad.

Here are the two individuals the Minnesota Vikings signed to their practice squad according to the 1500 ESPN website:

More from The Viking Age

    Marquis Lewis, OT

Released earlier this season by the Buffalo Bills, Lewis was an undrafted free agent. Standing 6’4″ and weighing 318 pounds, the former West Virginia blind side protector has a lot of potential in the NFL and any help Minnesota can get on the line is good news.

    Kyle Carter, TE

Carter might be a familiar name to fans of the Vikings since he was a member of the practice squad after being signed as an undrafted free agent. Although Carter has not seen any regular season action, he was a standout at Penn State.

Congratulations to Marquis Lewis and Kyle Carter on joining the Minnesota Vikings practice squad. So far, players on this roster have had some fairly good fortune on being called up to active rosters, so there is hope these two gentlemen could see a bigger role in the future.
