Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh liked what he saw from quarterback Jimmy Clausen despite the final outcome in Sunday's loss to Seattle.

Pressed into action because of an injury to Matt Schaub, Clausen finished 23 of 40 for 274 yards and an interception in the 35-6 defeat. Clausen joined Baltimore off waivers less than three weeks ago, but had familiarity in offensive coordinator Marc Trestman's system due to their time together in Chicago.

“It seemed like he did pretty well,” Harbaugh said via the team's official website. "There were probably some throws he would want back, but going in there, in that situation, and to be under fire like that against the defense we were playing, it speaks very well for him. I’m excited for him."

Harbaugh even left open the possibility that Clausen could get another start, even if Schaub is healthy. Schaub completed 65 percent of his passes for 540 yards and three touchdowns in his two starts, but two of his four interceptions were returned for touchdowns.

“We’ll see,” Harbaugh said if he'd consider giving Clausen another shot. “We’ll evaluate it going forward, I guess is the answer, sure.”

Kelechi Osemele, who made his first career start at left tackle shifting over from his usual guard spot, was impressed with Clausen's command in the huddle.

“He was phenomenal in the huddle,” Osemele said. “He really commanded a presence in there, made eye contact with pretty much everybody on every play. He was good on the checks. I think he did a great job.”

Clausen sees every chance he gets to play as an audition to show he belongs in the NFL.

“Every single time you step foot on the field, you’re getting evaluated,” he said. “That’s my mindset going in every single week because being a backup or whatever it is, you’re always getting evaluated by the head coach, the GM, the scouts, other scouts. That’s just the way this league is and the business part of it. So getting the opportunity to go out today and play was great.”
