Jets' Revis planning to play against Vikings on Monday night
FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Jets star cornerback Darrelle Revis stopped short of declaring himself ready to play Monday night against the Vikings but said his strained left hamstring felt good enough today to return to the lineup.
"Yeah, I think I could play right now," Revis told reporters after the Jets practiced. "I haven't had no tweaks and I've been running full speed. We're just being cautious. As of now, I'm preparing myself to battle against the Minnesota Vikings."
Revis, the best shut down cornerback in the NFL, has been sidelined since Week 2 when he pulled his hamstring getting beat on a touchdown route by Randy Moss, the-then New England wide receiver who rejoined the Vikings this week after a blockbuster trade with the Patriots.
During the preseason, Revis held out for 35 days in a contract dispute before signing a four-year, $46 million deal a week before the regular season started.
If Revis returns, there could be plenty of trash talk in the one-on-one battles with Moss, whom he has labeled a "slouch," who mailed in the rest of his Week 2 performance after making a spectacular one-handed touchdown catch on the play in which Revis was injured.
