Iowa OT Brandon Scherff: 'The Giants seem really interested'

Throughout the entire pre-draft process, the New York Giants have been closely linked to Iowa offensive linemen Brandon Scherff. Former Giants greats Amani Toomer and David Diehl have already broken down why they think Scherff will be the Giants' pick at No. 9 overall.

With the draft nearing, Scherff is starting to feel the momentum building as well. Scherff was not shy to admit that the Giants' perceived interest in him was real.

"The Giants seem really interested," Scherff told NJ Advance Media Wednesday afternoon following the NFL Play 60 youth football clinics. "I took a visit up there. I love the coaching staff up there and everything they stand for. I'll be really excited wherever I go."

Scherff is lauded for his versatility. Although he played offensive tackle at Iowa, many believe he has the potential to be an even better offensive guard at the NFL level. He's also not interested in putting up a fight to play specific position on the line.

"If they want me to play guard, I"ll play guard. If they want me to play tackle, I'll play tackle. I'm all about going in there to earn the respect of my teammates and just going out and playing football."

He sounds a lot like a classic Giants offensive lineman to me.
