Haynesworth reportedly out vs. Raiders

Published Oct. 1, 2011 1:00 a.m. ET

Defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth will again be unavailable for the New England Patriots on Sunday against the Oakland Raiders as he continues his recovery from a back injury that ruled him out of last week's 34-31 loss to Buffalo.

Haynesworth did not even travel with the team to Oakland, according to the Boston Herald.

The two-time Pro Bowl selection practiced Wednesday but sat out Thursday and Friday.

Patriots coach Bill Belichick said Haynesworth was improving and the report indicated he might be ready to play the New York Jets next week.

"I see him every day," Belichick said. "He's in here early, staying late, doing everything he can."

Defensive tackle Gerard Warren, who re-signed with the team this week after being cut toward the end of training camp, is set to come in against the NFL's leading rushing team that also includes the league's leading runner, Darren McFadden.
