Giants still need offensive lineman, linebacker, tight end

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) The New York Giants are heading into the final day of the NFL draft with a lot of needs and no guarantees they are going to find players to plug the holes.

The biggest needs seem to be on the offensive and defensive lines.

The offensive line needs another tackle, particularly one who can play the right side and challenge veteran Marshall Newhouse.

While the defensive line added Olivier Vernon and Damon Harrison in free agency, it needs another pass rusher, particularly with Jason Pierre-Paul on a one-year contract.

Other needs include a linebacker and possibly a tight end.

The Giants drafted cornerback Eli Apple in the first round on Thursday, and took receiver Sterling Shepard and safety Darian Thompson in the second and third rounds, respectively, on Friday.
