Fans give Rex a taste of Tebowing

Published Mar. 22, 2012 1:00 a.m. ET

Rex Ryan got his first glimpse of Tebow-mania from inside the tent, when he was "Tebowed" by two strangers at a Baton Rouge, La., restaurant on the day the Jets completed a trade for the popular quarterback.

Ryan, who was in town ahead of Thursday's LSU Pro Day, could have been forgiven for assuming he was immune to the hysteria surrounding the former Bronco's arrival until he returned to New York.

But the Jets head coach was quickly brought up to speed while posing with two fans for what he thought would be a photo at his table Wednesday night.

As Ryan waited for the flash that never came, the two guys dropped to the floor and adopted Tebow's signature prayer pose, as their friend recorded the stunt on video.

Ryan took his first experience of Tebowing in good spirit, grinning broadly and pointing at the pair before returning to his seat, before the exchange was uploaded on YouTube.
