Broncos CB Roby grades his 2014 season as a C-minus
Bradley Roby is just being humble.
The second-year defensive back out of Ohio State is his toughest critic, though. He gave himself a C-minus on what anyone else would desscribe as a breakout rookie campaign for the Broncos.
"I want to make the best plays when it all counts," Roby told 9News Denver. "When it's the fourth quarter and everything is on the line, (Aqib) Talib's got his guy covered, Chris (Harris) has got his guy covered, and when they come to me, I want them to lose."
Roby isn't that far away from being that lockdown corner. He was one of just six players in NFL history – and one of only two cornerbacks – who had multiple interceptions, multiple fumble recoveries, multiple forced fumbles and a sack in his rookie season.
The only other players to do that? San Diego DE Leslie O'Neal (1986), Detroit S Bennie Blades (1988), Miami MLB Zach Thomas (1996), Dallas S Roy Williams (2002) and Carolina CB Richard Marshall (2006). They have 11 Pro Bowl berths between them.
That's not bad company to be in -- especially if Roby can improve on what he thought was a C-minus season.
