Bill O'Brien 'damn proud to be head coach of the Houston Texans'

If Houston Texans head coach Bill O'Brien is indeed interested in the vacant head coaching position at the University of Maryland, he's doing a good job of hiding it.

Speaking after Monday's 10-6 win over the Cincinnati Bengals, O'Brien declined to comment directly on a report Sunday from Jason La Canfora of CBS indicating he had interest in the Maryland job amid uncertainty with the power structure in Houston. Instead, Ryan let it be known he's happy where he is.

"These things get thrown out here by the media, and I will not respond to those things,” O’Brien said, per Aaron Wilson of the Houston Chronicle. "They can just throw it out there and say anything. All I know is that I’m head coach of the Houston Texans and we just had a great win. And I’m damn proud to be the head coach of the Houston Texans.”

According to Wilson, while the Terrapins are interested in O'Brien, the coach is not looking to return to the college game.

With Monday's win, the Texans sit tied atop the AFC South with the Indianapolis Colts at 4-5.
