Bengals TE Eifert leaves game against Steelers with concussion

Published Dec. 13, 2015 2:08 p.m. ET

Bengals tight end Tyler Eifert left Sunday's game in the first half with a concussion and he will not return.

Eifert appeared to take a big hit at the end of a 24-yard catch-and-run in the first quarter. Eifert also missed last week's win over Cleveland after suffering a pinched nerve in his neck the previous Sunday.

The drive proved to be a devastating one for the Bengals. Quarterback Andy Dalton threw an interception two plays later, and then suffered a thumb injury making the tackle on Steelers lineman Stephon Tuitt. Dalton was ruled out for the game and was spotted on the sideline wearing a hard cast on his throwing hand.

Eifert entered the day with a league-leading 12 receiving touchdowns.

Safety George Iloka also left in the first half after aggravating his groin injury.
