The Miami Dolphins added some depth to their backfield, agreeing to a one-year, $1.5 million deal with former Pro Bowl running back Arian Foster on Monday, according to multiple reports.

Foster, who was scheduled to work out with Miami on Monday, suffered a season-ending Achilles injury during Week 4 last year. The Houston Texans released the 29-year-old running in March, ending his tenure in Houston as the franchise's all-time leader in rushing yards and rushing touchdowns.

Foster, who signed with the Texans as an undrafted free agent in 2009, was one of the more productive running backs during his seven years in Houston, leading the NFL in rushing once and rushing touchdowns twice.

The Dolphins are in need of depth at the position. Miami lost its leading rusher from last season -- Lamar Miller, who signed with the Texans in March. The team ranked 23rd in rushing last year, averaging 93.5 yards per game on the ground.
