With Andrew Wiggins, Ricky Rubio out, Tyus Jones gets NBA debut

Tyus Jones figured he'd have to wait a little longer to get his NBA debut, but the 2015 first-round pick ended up sliding into the Timberwolves' rotation a little earlier than expected. After knee injuries to both Ricky Rubio and Andrew Wiggins kept the Wolves' arguable two best players out of the starting lineup, Jones had to step onto the bench.

Zach LaVine and Kevin Martin took the places of Rubio and Wiggins in the Wolves' starting lineup. The Wolves ended up falling to the Hornets, 104-95, dropping their record on the season to 4-3. Neither injury has been reported as being too serious, but for now, we have to sit and wait to find out if either will be participating the Minnesota's next game at home against the Warriors on Thursday.

Jones, who had one point on 0-for-4 shooting with an assist and steal in 12 minutes, got his first taste of a regular-season NBA game with a few minutes left in the first quarter.

"It felt great," he said. "That's the moment you dream of and work hard for. So to get that opportunity was just an exciting feeling."

Jones suited up for the first time last week, but he didn't play in a 102-93 overtime win at Chicago.
