Why signing LaMarcus Aldridge will be very tricky

The San Antonio Spurs would love to add LaMarcus Aldridge to their core next season, but doing so may be tricky.
J.R. Wilco from SB Nation's Spurs blog Pounding the Rock recently spoke about the situation on a podcast with the Trail Blazers' blog Blazer's Edge:
"Nothing soothes the pain of playoff elimination like the thought of landing a big name free agent. Especially when an all-time great like Tim Duncan would have the chance to pass on the tricks of his trade to one of the league's best young power forwards, LaMarcus Aldridge. At first blush, it seems like a perfect match since the Spurs have so many free agents and the Trail Blazers' big man has been so standoffish about his intentions, which has lead to much discussion from the well-connected."
The 29-year-old averaged 23.4 points and 10.2 rebounds per game this season. He's slowly adding a three-point shot to his arsenal, and has a skill-set that figures to age reasonably well. His best days just may be ahead of him.
